About Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine is a holistic form of health care. It treats the person, not the disease. A healthy body is in a state of balance (homeostasis). The philosophy is to bring the body back into balance, not just to treat the symptons. Over time the symptoms will fade.

It is a form of heathcare that goes back thousands of years and including Chinese herbal medicine, Ayurveda in India and Native American Herbal Tradition in North America.

Hippocrates was considered to be the Father of all medicine and all doctors use to take the 'Hippocratic Oath To  Do No Harm'. Hippocrates was a herbalist!

About massage

Massage Therapy is a therapeutic tool that gives an experience that has been used to help people who are suffering with physical and emotional stress. Sometimes it is used to simple 'rebalance' the patient or help nurture them in their physical space. It is very relaxing, and brings calm and a sense of relief from the stresses and strains of life.

About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of hands on manual therapy which is in a similar field to Physiotherapy and Chiropractice. It assesses an individuals musculoskeletal pain to find the cause of the dysfunction. Using hands on treatment, it works on the dysfunctional joints and alleviates the pain. It also aims to guide the patient with advice on how to overcome their issue for the long term, so that it is less likely to return.

The techniques used include adjustments, neuromuscular technique, massage and muscle energy techniques.

Osteopathy treats:

-Back pain

-Neck pain

-Shoulder pain

-Hand and Elbow pain

-Hip pain

-Knee pain

-Foot and ankle pain

-Problems caused by driving and work strain

-Pain of arthritis

-Minor sports injuries

-Certain types of headaches caused by muscular tension

If the pain seems more related to a system of the body (e.g cardiovascular or respiratory) then the patient will be referred to their GP.
